Learning Track Overview

Our curriculum follows a progressive structure that builds foundational knowledge before advancing to specialized techniques. Each track prepares you for the next level while allowing time to practice and absorb new concepts.

Foundation Phase

Color wheel mastery, temperature understanding, and basic harmony principles. You'll work with physical color samples and learn to identify undertones in various lighting conditions.

Detailed skin tone assessment techniques, undertone identification across diverse ethnicities, and seasonal color analysis applications for makeup selection.

Weeks 4-6

Application Methods

Hands-on practice applying color theory to real makeup scenarios. Corrective techniques, enhancement strategies, and working with challenging color combinations.

Weeks 7-10

Professional Portfolio

Portfolio development, client consultation skills, and advanced color matching for photography and special events. Includes business applications of color theory knowledge.

Week 1-2

Color Fundamentals & Theory

Understanding primary, secondary, and tertiary colors through practical mixing exercises. Students work with actual pigments to see how colors interact.

  • Identify warm and cool color temperatures in makeup products
  • Practice color mixing with cream and powder formulations
  • Understand how lighting affects color perception
Week 3-4

Skin Undertone Analysis

Developing skills to accurately assess skin undertones across different ethnicities and ages. This forms the foundation for all color matching decisions.

  • Learn the vein test, jewelry test, and fabric draping methods
  • Practice on diverse skin tones in various lighting conditions
  • Understand the difference between overtone and undertone
  • Document findings using standardized assessment sheets

Color Harmony & Correction

Applying color theory principles to create balanced looks and correct specific color challenges like redness, sallowness, or dark circles.

  • Use complementary colors for effective color correction
  • Create monochromatic and analogous color schemes
  • Balance bold lip colors with appropriate eye makeup
  • Work with challenging colors like orange and yellow tones
Week 8-10

Advanced Application Techniques

Sophisticated color placement strategies for editorial, bridal, and special occasion makeup. Focus on creating depth and dimension through strategic color use.

  • Master gradient techniques and color blending
  • Create editorial looks using unconventional color combinations
  • Adapt colors for photography versus in-person appearance
  • Design looks that photograph well under various lighting
Week 11-12

Portfolio & Client Consultation

Developing a professional portfolio showcasing color theory skills and learning to conduct effective client consultations using color analysis.

  • Document before and after transformations with detailed notes
  • Practice client consultations with color recommendations
  • Create a personal color palette system for future reference
  • Prepare for industry certification assessments

Assessment & Progress Tracking

Regular evaluations ensure you're building skills progressively and identify areas where additional practice might be beneficial.
